Black Friday weekend has arrived, and Walmart has a great PC build for newcomers to PC gaming at a steep discount.
The retailer has an iBuyPower rig with an RTX 5070 inside for $999 – a significant drop of $500 (33%) from the list price of $1,499.

While some Black Friday discounts on GPUs offer $50 off, this is a whole rig for 33% off. For that lower price, you’re getting a pretty sleek case with an RTX 5070 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and 1TB of M.2 SSD storage.
There’s an Intel Core i5 that you may want to upgrade in time, but what’s on offer here is a fantastic value for 1080p or 1440p gaming at higher frame rates.
That’s because the RTX 5070, as a 50-series GPU, offers DLSS 4 with frame generation, and while we’d still prefer rasterized frames, it does help this PC punch above its weight for frame rate.
In our review of the GPU, James Archer noted the importance of frame gen and not a lot else.
“It’s completely fair and reasonable to expect some kind of meaningful, not wholly AI-reliant improvement from each new generation. The RTX 5070 simply does not deliver, and I’m honestly a little worried that if we simply shrug and accept that, frame generation really will be the only way that future GPUs bother to upgrade ‘performance’.”
Still, since the 40-series has gone the way of the Dodo, this is a solid pickup for a newcomer to PC gaming – especially when factoring in that there’s a handy mouse and keyboard in the box, too.
