Amazon has kicked off an early Prime Day sale on books, and one of the items that caught our attention is X-Men: The Manga Remastered. As part of the promotion, Volume 2 in Viz Media’s well-received remaster is on sale for 50% off. The 512-page paperback was published in March, so this is quite the deal. While Volume 1, which released in November, isn’t technically part of the sale, it is on sale for its best price yet at $17.30. At these prices, you’re getting over 1,000 pages of X-Men manga action for only $32.
X-Men: The Manga had been out of print for 25 years before Viz released the first remastered volume last fall. Take a closer look at both volumes below, and check out Amazon’s early Prime Day comic and graphic novel discounts for more offers ahead of the big sale (July 8-11). Readers can also save big on some cool Lego books as well as very popular sci-fi and fantasy novel books and box sets before Prime Day 2025.

X-Men: The Manga Remastered Vol. 1 is a 512-page paperback collecting the first handful of issues from the manga adaptation of X-Men: The Animated Series. The manga originally debuted in the US in 1998 and ran for 26 issues. Though the TV series had five seasons, the manga adaptation only made it through Season 2.
The manga stars Jubilation Lee, a teenager with mutant superpowers who wants an ordinary life. After being hunted down by Sentinels, Jubilation links up with the X-Men and squares off against Juggernaut, Apocalypse, and other villains from the Marvel universe.
Amazon’s $17.30 deal is the lowest price yet for Volume 1.

X-Men: The Manga Remastered Vol. 2 was published in March, and it has rarely received discounts from its $30 price. The nearly 50% discount is unlikely to stick around for long, as more than half of the available units are claimed at the time of writing.
Just like Volume 1, this paperback clocks in at 512 pages and contains a handful of chapters from the original run.
X-Men: The Manga was originally released across 13 volumes in Japan before being split into 26 chapters when it was translated to English. If you buy both remastered paperbacks, you’ll have just over half of the 26 total issues (chapters) that were originally released in the US.
At the moment, the remasters cover the story arc from Season 1 of X-Men: The Animated Series.
Viz Media hasn’t announced subsequent volumes, but it seems likely that two more paperbacks are in the works.
X-Men fans should also take a look at the newly published X-Men ’97: The Art and Making of the Animated Series. Published by Abrams Books on July 1, the 224-page art book is available in hardcover for $43.41 (was $50) or Kindle ebook for $20.
