When it comes to the next generation of graphics cards, if you want something truly high-end, you probably want to turn your focus to the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080. That’s not to say that AMD and Intel won’t be making excellent GPUs, but AMD has already revealed its intent to not release high-end GPUs for next-gen, while Intel has already shown its hand with the mid-range B580 and B570.
We’ve already seen what these two top Nvidia GPUs may be capable of thanks to RTX 5090 and 5080 leaked specs. Actual gaming performance is yet to be seen, but we should soon find out as Nvidia’s CES 2025 keynote is already penciled in for January 6th.
Acer Predator RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 gaming PCs briefly appear online
As spotted by Videocardz, two different prebuilt systems were listed by German retailer otto.de, though the listings have since been removed. However, that didn’t stop them from getting a snapshot with a short list of specs and pricing to think about. Speaking of price, it’s hard to say how much similar rigs will cost in the US, especially since the price could easily be a placeholder for the time being.

As you can see, both of them feature one of Intel’s new Arrow Lake processors, namely the flagship Ultra 9 285K and mid-range Ultra 7 265KF. We’ve reviewed both of these CPUs (the 265K in the Ultra 7’s case), and they fail to provide a significant improvement compared to last-gen, particularly for gaming.
Something with the Ryzen 7 9800X3D would be nice
It’s safe to say that the best CPU for gaming at the minute is the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It launched not long after Intel’s Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200S series and blew them out of the water, especially in gaming performance. The 9800X3D soon sold out after launch, and finding one in stock has been a struggle ever since.

In our 9800X3D review, the chip scored top marks and offers “incredible gaming performance” which can be taken even further with the addition of overclocking support (something the 7800X3D didn’t offer). You can see how well it performed paired with the RTX 4070 Ti and running games at 1080p low settings just below.
