The NF-A12x25 G2 is out!

Published:

At long last, Noctua launches a fan we’ve known for a long time: the NF-A12x25 G2. Broadly speaking, this is the Austrian brand’s new generation of 120 mm fans. Like the NF-A14x25, this new fan also incorporates some of the innovations of its 140 mm big brother.

NF-A12x25 G2: here it comes!

With this new fan, the brand offers us a new 120 mm reference with a 25 mm thick frame, as the name suggests. In fact, to find out more about the brand’s references, we’ve put together a little guide for you at this address. First of all, the owl brand offers us a fan that arrives in the company’s historic colors, with a beige frame surrounding brown blades. As we all know, some like it (including me), others not so much. For our part, we’re expecting a black version to join the brand’s catalog in the future. In fact, it’s already been announced for the end of the year, if we’re to believe the brand’s current roadmap. More concretely, the company is offering us a new blade design with a “break in the curvature” already found on the 140 mm model. Likewise, the hub features a turbine outlet, while the blades still pass very close to the frame, with a gap of just 0.5 mm. Here, the construction is based on LCP, a highly resistant material whose purpose is to maximize the fan’s rigidity when rotating. In terms of technical data, Noctua announces that its fan will operate at up to 1800 rpm. Air flow is rated at 107.3 m3/h, while pressure reaches 3.14 mmH2O. In effect, the brand is offering us a fan that operates a little slower than the NF-A12x25, but will generate a slightly more substantial airflow, while static pressure rises significantly. In the meantime, as you know, Noctua is a premium brand, and this is reflected in its selling price. Expect to pay €34.90 for this model. Last but not least, we’re also offered a bundle of two fans with a small variation in speed to avoid parasitic noise. This bundle sells for €64.90, while a slower model called LS also retails for €34.90!
